Civic Engagement Course Designation Process
  • Notify the Hagen Center that you are interested in creating a CE course
  • Enroll in a CE course training and receive a one-time $250 stipend upon completion.*
  • Complete the Civic Engagement Designation Proposal by the 5th Monday of the semester.
    • The CE Committee reviews the proposal within 3 days of the deadline to submit the proposal, and may ask for additional information.
    • The CE committee sends endorsed courses to GEAC for final approval.
    • Faculty receive another $250 stipend upon teaching the course for the first time and submitting the required assessment.
    • Faculty receive a $100 stipend each time they teach the course and complete the required assessment.

      *If a course is approved with a permanent CE designation, but a new faculty is teaching the course, they need to complete the CE course training before the start of the semester.
