Petition to the MNPS Director of Schools Nashville elected officials.

Core Mission

We have relied on MNPS for years to improve the Priority Schools (Schools of Innovation) in our community. Unfortunately, it appears as though things have regressed.  Enrollment has been on a steady decline and no effective action has been taken to correct this.  The friends and family of the Whites Creek Cluster of Schools will take action to ensure that every student in the cluster is provided a high quality education, within their immediate community, leading to a successful life after high school.

NOT ON OUR WATCH!
Joelton MS and Robert Lillard MS will not close nor will its feeder schools be taken over by charter schools.

NOT ON OUR WATCH!
The Whites Creek cluster will not continue to perform at the bottom 5% of schools in the state.

NOT ON OUR WATCH!
We are no longer willing to hear the School System’s plan. We have our own plan.

We are requesting that the MNPS school consolidation plan be "re-imagined" to include actual community input.

We are requesting that the MNPS school board vote on the school consolidation plan to close Joelton MS and Robert E. Lillard elementary school be postponed until the July school board meeting to allow for additional community input.

We believe the process of closing schools or "re-zoning" should follow a similar process to the Metro Nashville Planning Dept. zone change policy.
