Access to child care and services for children with special needs is important for families in Windsor-Essex. 

The City of Windsor, Children's Services, is responsible for planning and managing the delivery of community-based early years programs and services for children from birth to 12 years of age in Windsor-Essex. This includes child care and special needs resource funding. 
  
The purpose of this survey is to understand the unique child care needs of children with special needs and their families in Windsor-Essex and to identify gaps or barriers in the current system. This information will then be used to help improve access to child care and special needs resources for children with special needs in Windsor-Essex.

If you live in Windsor-Essex AND are a parent, guardian or caregiver for a child or children 0 to 12 years of age OR an expectant parent, you can help by completing this survey. 

The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Please fill out the survey only once.

The main focus of this survey is on the availability of child care and services for children with special needs and whether the current child care system is accessible and meeting the needs for local families and children with special needs.


A "child with special needs" means a child whose cognitive, physical, social, emotional or communicative needs, or whose needs relating to overall development, are of such a nature that additional supports are required for the child.
