Phase 1 of the study involves evaluation of four highway corridors along with their surrounding major streets: I-44, I-55, I-64 and I-70. The goal of this phase is to identify a more narrow study area for identification of projects that present the best opportunities for high performance transit in the near term.

At this time the project team has recommended a study area that consists broadly of the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County from just south of the I-64 corridor to north St. Louis County. The study area was selected because the I-64 and I-70 corridors and their surrounding major streets present the best and most immediate opportunities for improving connections to jobs, making transit a more viable alternative to driving, and to making it easier to move around the region using transit.
