A paid leadership opportunity

King County Metro is looking for people who live, work, and/or travel in South King County to join the South Link Connections Mobility Board. The goal of the South Link Connections project is to improve transit connections as Link light rail expands through 2026. Metro seeks community input on bus service plans, community outreach, and recommendations for:
  • Connecting transit users to new Link light rail stations in Kent Des Moines, Star Lake, and Federal Way Downtown
  • Reducing duplication of bus service with Link light rail
  • Improving mobility options, especially for historically underserved groups
  • Ensuring fair and inclusive community engagement of current and potential customers in the planning process
Metro aims to form a Mobility Board that equitably represents groups of people who have historically been left out of decision-making conversations related to transit and who are disproportionately affected by these decisions. This includes Black, Indigenous, and people of color; people with physical and/or cognitive disabilities; people with low to no income; immigrants and refugees; and linguistically diverse communities. We are also seeking representation form older adults, students and youth, and people who identify as LGBTQIA+ within those groups.

Mobility Board applications are being accepted through May 10, 2024.

Applicants who provide valid contact information will be notified of a selection decision in June. The first meetings will be held in mid-late June 2024 with the exact date to be determined based on board members' availability.

This application will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. If you have any questions or would prefer this application be emailed or physically mailed to you, please email haveasay@kingcounty.gov or call (206) 263-9768.
