Dear Valued Resident:

The Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) recently received a grant under the federal government's Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (Public Law 106-109) to develop a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP). The LHMP reduces the District's vulnerability to disasters and demonstrates the District's commitment to reducing risks from all hazards. Once the LHMP is reviewed and approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), MMWD will be eligible to apply for pre-disaster and post-disaster grant funding assistance to reduce its exposure to risks associated with the identified hazards.

MMWD is engaging residents throughout the LHMP process and wants to know what concerns MMWD stakeholders most about future disasters, for example: earthquakes, floods, extreme heat, etc.

We're hopeful that through this planning process, our residents will not only suggest ways that MMWD can protect the community's water infrastructure against disasters but also think about ways our residents and their families can be better prepared for the next natural disaster.

Your participation in this survey will help MMWD continue to evolve and improve. We appreciate you taking the time to answer this survey candidly with your insights and opinions.

The Marin Municipal Water District thanks you for taking the time to participate in this information-gathering process.
