The following eight directors have been nominated and are eligible to be elected at the Annual Meeting for three-year terms. Directors are permitted to serve two consecutive three-year terms. Approximately one-third of the Board of Directors seats are up for election at each Annual Meeting. Incumbent members denoted by *.

Mason Case - Project Manager for Hines with a background in real estate management, investment and financing. He oversees all development strategy, implementation and management for Hines assets in Downtown San Jose, including 150 S First St. (former Pavilion). Case has been a Bay Area resident for more than 10 years and is vested in making downtown a vibrant and thriving community.

Nick Goddard* (Director since 2020) - Senior Vice President at Colliers International. Goddard’s long-term advocacy for downtown stems from his student years at SJSU and from his hometown of London. Goddard is heavily involved in fueling urban regeneration and neighborhood revitalization projects and has been instrumental in many of the recent downtown San Jose building sales and tenancies. Goddard serves on the SJDA Executive and Advocacy Committees.

Andrew Jacobson - Jacobson brings expertise in management, leadership, and execution. He was legal study major and All-American soccer player at UC Berkeley. Before entering the business world, Jacobson enjoyed a 10-year international professional soccer career. He was an executive member of the Major League Soccer Players Union and has consulted in the valuation and due diligence of several European soccer clubs. Jacobson currently oversees the United States market for Westbank Projects Corp (https://westbankcorp.com/) where he manages a U.S. market of 10M SF of ground-up development and one historic renovation, totaling roughly $7B across the 15 projects. His role includes active involvement in all aspects of the business from acquisition, finance, development, construction, and disposition or lease-up.

Alan “Gumby” Marques* (Director since 2020) - Marques founded Heroes Martial Arts a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Studio in 2009 with locations in downtown and the Eastside of San Jose. Previous to that Marques founded OntheMat.com, which was one of the pioneering media sources for Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts and he got to travel around the world covering, promoting, sponsoring and competing. He was dubbed by his peers as “the Conscience of Jiu Jitsu in America.” He also has worked with other non-profits in mentoring at-risk youths and placemaking for locals. Marques is passionate about a better downtown for everyone and is particularly passionate in representing the interests of small businesses.

Frank Nguyen* (Director since 2020) - Founded Academic Coffee in SoFA in 2017. Academic Coffee is now an award winning coffee company and café with a business model deeply embedded in sustainability and social progress. Academic also supplies coffee to some of the finest restaurants and offices in the Bay Area. Nguyen is SJDA Vice President of Marketing and serves on the Executive Committee.

Laura Riparbelli - Riparbelli is a senior associate attorney at Hoge, Fenton, Jones & Appel, Inc. Her practice focuses on business litigation and professional liability litigation. Riparbelli is a San José native and works in downtown. Having grown up in San José, Riparbelli wants to see Downtown continue to flourish.

Stan Vuckovich* (Director since 2019) - CEO of KBM Hogue. Vuckovich leads the company’s sales, operations and finance emphasizing KBM’s commitment to design and quality. KBM Hogue was established in downtown San Jose in 1946 is currently headquartered at 225 W. Santa Clara St. Vuckovich was SJDA Board President in 2016 and 2017.

Corinda Wong - Managing Director at Gensler, an alumni of San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, and a citizen of downtown San Jose for over 16 years. Wong brings her passion for design and people to lead projects and pro bono efforts in the downtown, most notably, Moment, Miniboss, Pride on Post, and an impressive roster of top technology clients in Silicon Valley. She believes that the impact of designing spaces create unique experiences for people, communities, and the celebration of culture.
