Derrinlough Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund Information Evening Registration
Derrinlough Wind Farm DAC is delighted to announce that Derrinlough Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund (The Fund”) opened on the 10th of November 2025 for applications.
This Fund will provide grants to local community groups, not-for-profit organisations or social enterprises that operate or service communities within 10km of Derrinlough Wind Farm, or which are the primary provider of services or activities within this area, for projects that will create positive social and environmental impacts. The overall aim is to increase public and environmental wellbeing in the community and to ensure the communities adjacent to the wind farm receive direct tangible community benefits from its operation.
Derrinlough Wind Farm DAC will make an annual contribution of €2/MWh (per Loss-Adjusted Metered Generation) into the Community Benefit Fund for 15 years. The Fund value will vary each year as it will be calculated based on the annual output of the wind farm.
A key criterion is that the projects and initiatives will benefit the communities surrounding the wind farm. As part of this strand of funding, a minimum of 40% of the overall Fund shall be paid to not-for-profit community enterprises whose primary focus or aim is the promotion of initiatives towards the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular, Goals 4, 7, 11 and 13, including education, energy efficiency, sustainable energy and climate action initiatives.
In line with the Fund opening, the Derrinlough Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund Team will host a community information evening.
This event will be an opportunity for local community groups and prospective applicants to learn more about the Fund and how to apply, and to ask questions to BnM, the Fund Administrators.
The information evening will be held on:
Date : 03rd of December 2025 Venue : St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Ferbane Street, Cloghan, Co. Offaly, R42 AK24 Time : 7 -8.30pm
