Solana Beach School District - Solana Highlands Conversion Survey
About Solana Highlands
Solana Beach School District community of parents, staff, and administration are working together to determine if and when Solana Highlands, currently a K-3 school, could/would convert to a K-6 elementary configuration.
This survey is to collect information to further inform the discussion/decision.
Previously, Solana Highlands and Carmel Creek were K-6 schools with enrollment exceeding 700 students in the early 2000s and were converted from K-6 schools to K-4 schools in 2004, the same year Solana Pacific opened as a 5-6 grade configuration.
Solana Highlands and Carmel Creek were then converted to K-3 schools in 2014, the same year Solana Ranch opened.
Solana Highlands has been experiencing declining enrollment in recent years and is currently one of the district's smallest schools, currently approximately 300 K-3 grade students.
