Every community needs welcoming gathering places where people of different ages and backgrounds can come to together to learn from each other, engage in joint activities, and build meaningful relationships. Yet too often community institutions are age-segregated, with separate spaces and programming for different age groups. Libraries, parks, recreation centers, housing complexes, YMCAs, museums, community centers and other physical places can play an important role in fostering intergenerational engagement, promoting understanding of generational perspectives, and building a sense of community. International Intergenerational expert, Nancy Henkin, will be hosting a FREE workshop:

•    Successful models of intergenerational spaces and places

•    Concrete strategies for creating vibrant settings that foster intergenerational

•    Building effective partnerships

•       Involving participants of all ages in the planning of intergenerational places

•       Activities that foster generational empathy
