Course Description

Death Investigations
This one-hour training session is intended for police officers who are involved in death investigations. This session provides an overview of the role of forensic toxicology in death investigations, introduces some of the scientific principles underlying drug toxicity, and identifies the limitations of drug testing.  Case studies of death investigations involving drug toxicity will also be discussed.
Upon completion of this training session, participants will demonstrate knowledge of the types of evidence suitable for toxicology testing and the limitations of drug analysis.
