K-12 SUPPORT STAFF TRAINING SURVEY
|
Survey Purpose
CUPE, other support staff unions, and BCPSEA are jointly launching this survey with a view to soliciting input to help define priorities for, and interest in, support staff training and upgrading. This survey will help inform the work of the Support Staff Education Committee (SSEC), which was struck as per item 6 of the Provincial Framework Agreement.
This survey is also asking a number of questions that do not necessarily fall under the mandate of the SSEC, but which will provide the parties with a comprehensive view of the state of training in the sector (e.g. existing training, interest in training, barriers to training, potential skills gaps, etc.). As such, data gathered from the survey may be used in other ways that further the development of training in the K-12 sector, such as in discussions between local unions, school districts, and the provincial government.
During the context of the COVID-19 /SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, we realize that the way training takes place will likely be quite different than usual. Unless otherwise stated, we are seeking information about your preferences and opinions with respect to how training did or should take place normally, i.e. either before the pandemic, or once the pandemic is over. However, given the significance and uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, we do ask about your preference for the delivery of training with respect to COVID-19 /SARS-CoV-2, but this will be clearly indicated.
This survey is voluntary, and you may skip questions you do not wish to answer. While the aggregate results of this survey may be shared in the ways noted above, your individual responses are completely anonymous.
If you have any questions about this survey please contact your local union.
We anticipate that the survey will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
