Introduction
Stephen Hackett is a Business Development Manager with Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail. He is carrying out this survey as part of his college degree in Railway Operations and it is purely for research purposes. 

 

Why is this study being carried out?
This study is being carried out to determine the level of demand for an early morning rail service from Tipperary and Limerick to Cork.

 

Why have you been chosen?
You have been chosen as you live in Tipperary/Limerick and travel to Cork for work or study.

 

Do you have to take part?
Your participation is completely voluntary and your answers are completely anonymous, you can exit the survey at any time if you wish. All responses are anonymous and cannot be traced back to you.

 

What will happen if you take part?
If you decide to take part then an online survey will follow as soon as you click ‘next’ below.

 

How long will it take?
The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

 

What will happen to the information that you provide?
The information you provide will be analyzed to determine whether there is sufficient demand to introduce an early morning service from Thurles/Limerick to Cork. The data you provide will be held securely by Survey Monkey and will be protected under their terms of use. The data will be used to provide a report to the RU director and his team as well as to GCU/IRO on my findings.

 

Will you benefit directly from this research study?
You will not benefit directly from this survey, however, if the research shows that there is strong demand you may benefit from an improved level of service operating between Thurles, Limerick and Cork.
