2027-28 School Calendar Survey

The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District is seeking your feedback on two draft academic calendar options for the 2027-28 school year. This survey will close on Sunday, May 17, at 11:59pm.

Both calendars meet state and district requirements, but there are a few key differences:

The differences between the two options are:

  • Standard Calendar Structure
Version B - (click to view PDF of calendar)
  • Adjusted to accommodate the Arctic Winter Games, includes a longer spring break (March 3-13 vs. March 6-10)
  • Removes the no school day on April 21
  • Shifts the last day of school one day later (the number of student instructional days remains the same, but the school year is one day longer with an additional non-student-contact day)
