The Division of Career & Technical Education invites CTE teachers, school counselors and district administrators to participate in a number of content standards revision work groups this summer.

Each work group will include approximately 20 members, including secondary Career & Technical Education teachers, postsecondary faculty, and industry representatives.  Other stakeholders who are interested in the process are also encouraged to apply. Applicants will be selected to assure broad representation of all demographics on each work group.

Revision work groups will meet in-person June 2-4, 2020 in Sioux Falls. In the event that public meetings are not possible, the initial meetings and the standards update process will be conducted virtually via electronic conferencing platforms. DOE/CTE specialists and project consultants will keep you apprised of plans as we move on into this new way of doing business. Additional, follow-up meetings may be held online as needed later in the summer following the initial work sessions.

Participants will be compensated for their time at a rate of $25/hour for up to six 8-hour days. Meals, mileage, and lodging will also be reimbursed at state rates.

The deadline to apply for these work groups is April 15, 2020.  Applicants will be notified by the Department of Education by mid April about the roles they have been selected for as they participate in the work group.
