Rights Camera Action: Advocacy Beyond 2016
How do advocates bring issues to the notice of the general public and decision makers now that the punk and union movements are no longer getting behind causes and organising mass rallies? Does it means that we now advocate for change using online petitions and paper, or are those mass rallies still effective enough to drive change?
Facilitator: George Taleporos
Panellists: Mary Mallett, Jax (Jacki) Brown, Susan Arthur & Isabelle Oderberg

Facilitator: Lauren Henley

Legal instruments such as the Disability Discrimination Act, the State Disability Plan and the Victorian Charter are often used by advocates to defend the rights of people with disability. The discussion will focus on how these instruments might work in an NDIS environment and what still needs to happen to shift societal behaviors, attitudes and assumptions towards people with disability.
Facilitator: Tricia Malowney
Panellists: Alastair McEwin, Professor Keith McVilly, Sharon Granek & Catherine Dixon.
