CPSU-NSW Southern Cross University Branch  - Log of Claims 2021 – EB 9

The Southern Cross University Branch of the CPSU-NSW serves the following claims on Southern Cross University (‘the University’) for a collective agreement for Professional Staff employed by the University:

General

1.  Maintain all conditions of employment for Professional Staff as set out in the Southern Cross University Enterprise Agreement 2018 unless otherwise improved as a result of negotiations with the CPSU-NSW;

2.   Establish separate agreements for Professional Staff and Academics, to ensure that only Professional Staff can vote on Professional Staff conditions; 

3.    No rights or entitlements of Professional Staff to be moved from the Agreement into policy;

4.    CPSU reserves the right to raise other matters throughout negotiations, especially if in response to Claims made by the University.

 Job Security

5.   Improved job security for Professional Staff, no forced redundancies and no out-sourcing during the life of the Agreement;

6.   Equitable conversion clauses for fixed-term and casual staff;

7.   Improved consultation and managing change provisions;

 
Salaries and Duration

8.   The term of the Agreement and increases to salary over the life of the Agreement at a rate and frequency to be determined during negotiations with the CSPU-NSW;

 Flexibility

9.   A comprehensive Remote Working clause to give effect to a commitment to providing a flexible working environment for Professional Staff;

Workloads

10.   Strengthen existing Professional Staff workload provisions;

Superannuation and Parental Leave

11.   Superannuation to be paid on periods of unpaid parental leave;

Sexual Harassment

12.   The establishment of a comprehensive, stand-alone sexual harassment clause;

Leave

13.   Improvements to leave provisions including but not limited to, domestic violence leave; special leave; cessation of pregnancy leave; and partner leave;

Union Rights

14.   Improved time release provisions for undertaking union activity;
