Our Santa Clara County union contract expires on June 21, 2026, and to win a strong agreement, we need to start organizing now. With the federal government attacking public services and putting our jobs at risk, it’s up to workers like us to protect the vital services our communities rely on every day. We know the County won’t simply hand us the raises and protections we need to keep up with the affordability crisis, we’ll have to fight for them together!

What is the Contract Action Team (CAT)?

A Contract Action Team (CAT) is a committee made up of union members who take responsibility for communicating with a group of members at the worksite to make sure that they are fully informed and engaged in our Union contract fight. CATs are integral to the fight for a fair, strong contract. Each CAT member will be responsible for no more than twenty (20) members, and assignments will be based on who people see, talk, and work with on a daily basis.

Contract Action Team Commitment:
As a CAT (Contract Action Team member), I commit to:

✅ Help organize actions at my worksite and turn out my co-workers to other bigger County-wide actions;
✅ Have one-on-one conversations with my co-workers to build and maintain a strong union;
✅ Distribute and collect bargaining surveys, union membership cards, petitions, etc.;
✅ Attend regular CAT meetings to share information and strategize;
✅ Attend a CAT Training.
