The goal is to better understand these effects and ultimately it may inform us about how social media framing can shape opinions. What you will do in the study: To be eligible for this study, you must be 18 years old or older and use social media at least 1 hour per day. You will be asked to answer some questions about your social media use and your feelings about yourself. Time Burden: The survey will require about 10-15 minutes to complete.Risks: This study involves minimal risk to you. However, as the study includes reading and responding to questions about social media and its influence, there is a small possibility that you may experience mild psychological discomfort. Participants may skip any question at any time without penalty. You may request free counseling if you experience any discomfort: https://www.collin.edu/studentresources/counseling/ Benefits: There are some possible benefits from participating. The information collected may help researchers and the public better understand the psychological effects of social media framing. You may also have the opportunity to reflect on experiences with social media or possible benefits to you as a student.Confidentiality: Your participation will be anonymous. We will not collect your name or any personal identity information. Your responses will be stored in a secure, password-protected file accessible only to the researchers for a minimum of 3 years. Voluntary participation: Participation in this study is completely voluntary. If you are a student, your decision to participate or withdraw at any time will not affect your grades or relationship with Collin College.How to withdraw from the study: Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary, and you may withdraw at any point without penalty. If you wish to stop participating during the study, you may simply exit the survey. You may close the browser window at any time. Compensation: You will receive no payment for participating in this study.
