The Washington ACTE's Professional Development Committee invites you to submit a presentation proposal for the 2017 WA-ACTE Summer Conference. "WE ARE CTE...Fostering Success" August 6-9, 2017–Spokane WA

The purpose of the 2017 Washington ACTE Summer Conference is to provide a platform for the delivery of coordinated, sustainable, and intensive professional development opportunities to advance career-connected learning for all students by addressing the needs of Career and Technical Education (CTE) educators and other instructors, counselors, and administrators within STEM, Arts, and the 16 Career Clusters of CTE.

Conference Objectives:
The objectives of the 2017 Washington ACTE Summer Conference are to develop instructional and leadership capabilities for all educators that can be taken back to the classroom (i.e., Curriculum, Materials)

1  Promoting the effective district implementation of quality Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs for all students resulting in greater graduation rates for ALL students in our state;

2  Improving understanding and delivery of Career and Technical Education (CTE) pedagogy, CTE Standards, administrative policies and procedures, including the legal responsibilities and ethical standards that affect student success;
 
3  Understanding and accessing available resources for implementing effective career-connected learning opportunities in K-12 education overall and within Career and Technical Education (CTE);
 
4  Identify and promote outstanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that have focused on integrating rigorous career-connected learning allowing students to master academic skills while acquiring the technical skills required by high skill, high wage in-demand occupations and careers;

5  Creating and/or expanding effective business and industry partnerships and practices to improve parental and community involvement with CTE in delivering career-connected learning;

6  Providing supportive practices in recruiting, retaining, and advancing quality CTE instructors;
 
7  Supporting connections between K-12 CTE and Postsecondary - including work to better prepare students for acceptance and performance within the Postsecondary programs;
 
8  Promoting adoption of current industry practices into the K-12 CTE classroom and highlighting future industry trends.
