Nominate a remarkable candidate for the Spirit of Barbra Schlifer Award

Barbra Schlifer was an idealistic young lawyer whose life was cut short by violence on the night of her call to the bar of Ontario. In her memory, the Barbra Schlifer Clinic helps survivors of violence rebuild their lives through free legal representation, counselling and language interpretation.

Do you know a remarkable woman or gender-diverse person whose work is focused on improving the lives of those facing violence? Since 2012, the Spirit of Barbara Schlifer Award has recognized an individual who makes a demonstrable contribution to improving the lives of women and gender-diverse people wanting to build lives free from violence. Through paid employment, community leadership or volunteering, their work challenges prejudice toward gender, race, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, geographic isolation/disadvantage, disability and/or religious belief. They are recognized for their advocacy in the area of gender-based violence.

Did we just describe someone you know?  The deadline to receive nominations is January 15, 2023.
