There is a lot of change in 2015 with the introduction of the new public sector procurement regulations and a general election in May.

The DfE would like to increase schools capability in the area of public procurement and that by improving your procurement capability we will also reduce the risk of schools being legally challenged by suppliers and improve VfM achieved for goods and services purchased.

The Gloucester Association of School Business Managers volunteered to be the pilot in the DfE procurement initiative which began last term. We will facilitate local workshops on various procurement topics to be decided by you, tips for engaging your audience and reading body language. We hope this survey and news from GASBM workshops will inspire more SBM volunteers, identify any gaps in your knowledge and give ideas for different formats and support tools. We will host all resources and tools in a free site available to all schools.

With this in mind, we welcome your response to the following questions. We are looking to you to let us know how we can best support you.

The survey results will remain confidential.

If you would like to know more or would welcome a brief presentation at your next SBM meeting please contact me at helen.lumb@education.gsi.gov.uk or 07825105117.
