On November 1, 2019, Surprise launched a pilot program for Shared Active Transportation Vehicles (SATV) and is seeking resident input regarding the operation of SATVs in Surprise.

Per Surprise City Ordinance, SATVs are defined as a commercially-rented, scooter, bike, or any other mobile vehicle, including but not limited to stand-up electric scooters and electric bicycles, excluding motor vehicles as defined by A.R.S. ยง 28-101, with a self-contained locking mechanism that does not require locking to a bicycle rack, docking system or other structure.

The experimental program will evaluate the use and deployment of SATVs as a transportation option in the city of Surprise from November 1, 2019 through April 28, 2020.

Your opinion is important to us and will help shape future SATV policies in Surprise.

We invite you to take the survey multiple times over the duration of the six-month pilot period should your experience or opinion of SATVs change.
