This qualitative study titled Navigating Post-Pandemic Workforce Challenges in Student Affairs: A Multiple Case Study of Chief Student Affairs Officers is designed to explore how CSAOs are navigating the emerging or existing workforce challenges that have been caused or exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, it seeks to understand how CSAO’s are navigating post-pandemic workforce challenges in Student Affairs by exploring external factors, institutional context, and individual CSAO perspectives, characteristics, and skills.

Participants may be asked to participate in up to three (3), 1-hour interviews over the course of 2 months.

There are two inclusion criteria for this study:
  • Position: You must currently occupy, or have most recently occupied, the highest leadership position in Student Affairs on campus, regardless of your specific title.
  • Experience with Post-Pandemic Workforce Challenges in Student Affairs: The study seeks CSAOs who have navigated or are currently navigating post-pandemic workforce challenges in Student Affairs.
