Sicamous Community Survey |
March 2019
The District of Sicamous is developing a Flood Protection Plan for the Sicamous Narrows as a proactive approach to protect people, property and infrastructure from flooding along Sicamous Narrows. The Flood Protection Plan will propose a design for minimizing flood risks along the Narrows. You can find out more information about the project at Sicamous.ca.
Getting input from community members (i.e. property and business owners) is essential for designing protection measures that will best reflect to community concerns and priorities. This survey is one pathway for community members to share input on what you’d like to see in the Flood Protection Plan. The survey is 16 questions and should take approximately 5 – 10 minutes to complete.

In 2017, the District completed a Hydraulic Capacity Assessment of the Narrows, which used a model to determine the extent of future flooding from a major event. A copy of this floodplain map is shown above.
