Shire of Williams Multi-Purpose Recreation Facility - Community Survey.

The Shire is planning for the future and would like to hear your views on the recreation precinct

The Shire of Williams has recently secured funding for the construction of a new indoor multi-use netball court. The placement of this court is an important decision, as it will significantly influence the future layout of the entire recreation precinct, including the eventual replacement of the current grandstand and recreation centre.

As part of the planning process, we are also considering opportunities for co-locating sporting facilities to ensure that the entire precinct meets the needs of our community and enables clubs and users to make the best use of modern, shared spaces.

As a follow on from the Shire display at the Williams Expo in April and the public workshops in May, we now invite you to share your views on the design, layout, and priorities for the future of the Williams Recreation Precinct. Your feedback will help shape a facility that supports a wide range of sporting, community, and recreational activities for years to come.
Thank you for taking the time to contribute to this important project.

7.This question is about the location of the new indoor netball court. From the recent community workshops, it seems that there are 2 most likely options. Which of these would you prefer?
8.The current tennis courts will soon require expensive repairs. One option is to install a shared synthetic surface for both hockey and tennis, used in alternating seasons. This would also allow the hockey field to move closer to amenities and improve safety by reducing the need to cross the carpark.

Please select your preferred option below.
9.To allow for future flexibility and better use of the precinct, the Shire is considering options for the placement of new facilities depending on the future of the harness racing. In the event that harness racing does not continue in the future, what would you prefer?
10.Most civic buildings have a life expectancy of 30 to 50 years, with maintenance and repair costs increasing significantly in their final decades. The current recreation centre and clubrooms are now over 30 years old, and the Shire is planning for their future renewal. The next few questions focus on what is important to you in a new recreation centre.

To start — would you prefer the new facility to be single-storey or two-storey?
