Lammermuir Community Action Plan Survey 2025

If you live in, work in or visit Longformacus, Ellemford, Cranshaws or Rigfoot, we would like you to take our community survey which has been designed to help shape a Community Action Plan (CAP) for the area. Your views really matter so please tell us your thoughts and ideas.
There are a mix of questions in the survey to help us to understand your views about the community. Please answer as many questions as you can and encourage all members of your household to complete the survey including any children. If you only respond to the tick box sections, the survey will take approximately 4 minutes to complete. We would, however, really appreciate your views which can be included in the free text boxes provided (boxes will expand as you type).

Questions about services and local infrastructure

The following fourteen questions (sections 1-4, labelled A-N) will provide base line data which the community can use to adjust or improve local services, facilities and infrastructure in the coming years.

All the questions use a rating scale from poor to excellent. Please rate each topic and provide any further notes on the topic in the text box provided.

Section 1: Traffic, Transport and Parking

In this part of the survey, we are trying to find out if there are ways to improve on existing infrastructure or, if there might be new and different ways to move around. This could be through improving footpaths and routes or by implementing more flexible and sustainable solutions for public transport such as subsidised taxis, community owned electric vehicles, access to e-bikes, improved roads, electric vehicle charging points and increased options for parking.

Renewables and Net Zero

Please tell us what you think about making our community more sustainable and energy efficient. Think about things like insulating and retrofitting homes to make them more energy efficient, community wide heating solutions such as district heating systems, generating income or storing power for local use from renewables (solar arrays, micro grids, battery storage), electric vehicles (cars and bikes), charging points for electric vehicles and fuel security initiatives such as the local fuel payments scheme.
CELCA Funds

In the last five years the community has received £723,000 in community benefits from Fred Olsen Renewables and CWP Energy. A wide range of local initiatives are currently funded such as winter fuel payments, community larder, swimming lessons, children’s activities and local events. As community priorities change and the Fund grows, we want to review how well the Fund has worked and consider how it might change in future.
