Volunteer to be a Mentor for EB 2020 Career Central.

EB 2020 wants YOU! Members of the EB 2020 host societies are invited to volunteer as onsite mentors for the EB 2020 Career Central activities in San Diego.
 
Volunteers play a vital role at Experimental Biology (EB) meetings. Your passion and commitment help to make EB meetings successful. By completing and submitting this application, you understand as a volunteer, you are responsible for your own expenses and that no compensation is available for this activity.
 
Prospective mentors must satisfy the following criteria:
 Be registered as an EB 2020 meeting attendee
  •  Be a member of one of the EB 2020 host societies (AAA, APS, ASBMB, ASIP, ASPET)
  •  Be at the junior faculty level or higher
  •  Be committed to inclusive diversity, and committed to mentoring a diverse group of students/trainees and early-stage investigators
  • Be able to provide constructive feedback while assisting students/trainees and early-stage investigators during scheduled presentation practice sessions or,
  •  Be able to critique CVs/résumés and provide constructive feedback, or,
  •   Be able to provide general career advice and guidance to students/trainees and early-stage investigators

Application Requirements
Describe your previous experience with mentoring, and/or critiquing presentations and CVs.

Mentor Expectations
  •  Be available and actively engaged in the onsite mentoring process during the EB 2020 meeting.
  •  Time commitment: Two hours minimum on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday during the meeting, between 9:30am and 4:00pm. The duration of the mentoring process can vary. When you complete the Volunteer Mentor profile, you can designate your availability and preferred mentoring activities.
