Peer Group Audit

There are seven distinct categories that will be evaluated:
  • Housekeeping and General Organization
  • Order Processing
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance
  • Productivity
  • Quality
  • Safety
  • Management Practices
Each category will have several statements or questions that should be rated on a scale of Poor to Excellent.  At the end of each category there is a comment box.  Comments are the most critical part of the audit - please take the time to write down your observations. If a comment is in regard to a specific line or area in the plant, indicate that in your comment.  These are meant to be open-ended and broad questions, so they do not lead everyone to the same answer.

There is only one answer for each statement in each category. Please check the most appropriate box using the following scale:

Excellent - Best in class. No room for improvement.

Above Average - A leader in the industry; the auditor would be satisfied if his/her shop were equivalent in this area.

Average - Strong, but some areas clearly could and should be improved.

Below Average - Needs improvement to bring it up to the level of what is expected from a quality-conscious job shop.

Poor - This is an area that is likely hurting the business when compared to others in the market.  Critical area for improvement.

N/A - Use this rating only if you did not see, or could not evaluate, the area in question.
