Question Title

Thank you for your interest in financial assistance from GOALS.

We believe that the personal growth which comes from participating in a GOALS expedition should be available to every child who wants to be involved.  We also recognize that costs can be prohibitive, and thus work tirelessly throughout the year to raise money that assists those children and their families who need some help to be involved in a GOALS expedition.

We also believe that simply providing the experience for someone who hasn’t made their own meaningful attempts to raise the money needed decreases the potential impact for that child - a spot on a GOALS expedition that has been earned means far more to the participant than the same spot which has been provided as a hand-out.  Therefore, our financial assistance committee thoughtfully reviews each application we receive based on a combination of financial need and demonstrated/planned effort.  The successful applicant is typically one who exemplifies a significant level of personal commitment and dedication to their GOALS expedition, but needs help getting past the financial investment required.

The application below is to be completed by the CHILD who is applying for financial assistance to participate.  A similar application must also be completed by their parent(s)/guardian(s) to be considered complete.  These applications will be reviewed and considered together.

There will be two funding rounds in 2018.  For round 1, applications are due no later than March 31.  Successful applicants in this round will be notified of their awards by April 15.  A second round for expeditions that launch later in the summer will be open from April 15 - May 15, with successful applicants receiving notification by June 1.

Please answer each of the questions below as thoroughly as possible.
