Girls on the Run of Western Colorado - Volunteer Application

Thanks for volunteering for Girls on the Run. EVERYONE interested in volunteering for GOTR as a coach, assistant coach, or frequent helper must complete an online application.

*Returning Coaches - Please complete the online application annually, so we have updated contact information. Your County Coordinator and/or site liaison will be contacting you with more details as the season approaches.

*New Coaches - Please complete the following online application as the first step in becoming a Girls on the Run volunteer coach. If you have any questions about the application, please contact or call our office at 970.257.9267.
In addition to this online application, all new volunteers are required to attend a New Coach Training (please visit the Coach page on our website - - for a listing of upcoming training dates and locations) prior to coaching Girls on the Run. The Girls on the Run County Coordinator in your area will contact you with further information on trainings and season details once this online application is completed.

*At the end of this survey, you will be redirected to the coach page of our website - - for instructions on completing a background check online. All volunteers are required to complete a background check before volunteering with Girls on the Run.

* 1. Please complete the following contact information:

* 2. Birthdate: mm/dd/yyyy

* 3. T-Shirt Size

* 4. Please check the county(s) that you would like to volunteer in. At the end of the question, you will be asked to list your preferred town and school site.

* 5. I am interested in serving as a Girls on the Run:

* 6. Please mark the New Coaches' Training that you will attend if you have not already been trained. (All new coaches are required to attend a New Coach Training.) If you have already been trained, please mark that. We are still confirming training dates for Garfield County. All of our trainings are limited to 25 people. You will automatically be registered for whichever training you mark here. As the training gets closer, all registered participants will be emailed training information. Training updates and information can be found on our website - on the Coaches' Information page.

* 7. Are you CPR certified?

* 8. Are you First Aid certified?

* 9. If you are not already certified in First Aid and CPR, please let us know if you will be attending one of the currently scheduled trainings. GOTR trainings are fun, fast paced and free to GOTR coaches and will prepare you for issues that might arise in GOTR. Class sizes are limited, so please make sure and register early for a CPR/First Aid class. If you register for a training, please make sure and attend. GOTR has to pay once a class has been scheduled. If fewer than 7 participants are signed up for a class five days before the class, it will be cancelled. Each site is required to have one coach who is CPR/First Aid certified. Certifications last two years. 1-2 additional trainings will be added in Garfield and other counties.

* 10. If you are a returning coach, please let us know how many seasons you have coached before this fall.

* 11. Please provide an emergency name and contact phone number in case of an emergency and your fellow coaches need to contact someone on your behalf.
