INTRODUCTION: Objectives of the Rwanda Export Development Program (EDP)

Trademark East Africa (TMEA) and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) are launching the Rwandan Export Development Program (EDP) and would like to invite interested businesses to apply for selection as potential beneficiaries - see application guidelines on page 2.

This three-year program is designed to support Rwandan companies to increase their export revenues, by:

1. Connecting Rwandan businesses to regional and international buyers, as well as local partners (e.g., access to buyers, and other relevant government programs, etc.)

2. Co-financing for B2B deal-making meetings and trips, participation at trade fairs and other market events

3. Facilitating access to investment and export finance (e.g. donor and bank funding),

4. Providing technical advice and business development support as needed (e.g., technical assistance, skills building, business processes, marketing strategy, etc.).


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In order to qualify, businesses must meet the following requirements:

I. Currently exporting/can provide evidence of intention to export (business plan, etc.)

II. Must be in the following sub-sectors:

    a. Agriculture (except tea and coffee, unless businesses with exceptional innovations or value-added products)

    b. Manufacturing (except quarrying and mining, unless businesses with exceptional innovations)

    c. Services (except tourism, unless businesses with exceptional innovations)

III. Generating annual revenue of over 100,000 USD as of Dec. 2018, or with clear potential to achieve similar results by the end of 2019.
