The City has three official parks and the Roslyn Urban Forest (RUF), a large forested open space area with numerous trails and access points, and the Coal Mine Trail that connects the community north to Ronald and south to Cle Elum. Pioneer (Slim Runje Field) Park is the largest developed park and contains the widest variety of recreation facilities and activities, including but not limited to: playground, picnic shelter and gazebo, ball field, sports court and large lawn area. The City also has a large Cemetery that provides significant open space as well as a fascinating look at the community's history.
The City is in the process of preparing a Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Plan in order to guide parks improvements and attain eligibility for grants from the Recreation Conservation Office. Taking some time to complete this survey will be an important contribution to the planning effort.
