Riverina Highlands Waterway Management Plan |
Survey - Have your say in improving the health of our waterways
Riverina Local Land Services (LLS) is working with Murray LLS to develop a waterway management plan (WMP) for the Riverina Highlands Area.
The plan will be developed with the local community and other stakeholders. It will guide the management of waterways in the catchment over the next ten years.
Refreshing the Riverina Highlands is part of the Refreshing Rivers program, a collaboration between government, industry, research, and community organisations, led by Murray Local Land Services. This project has been assisted by the New South Wales Government through its Environmental Trust.
The stakeholder-led shared vision for the Refreshing Rivers program is to:
"Improve heath of inland waterways across NSW agricultural landscapes sustained by industry, farmer and community action".
The first step in the project is to identify and confirm the values (what we love, or value), and threats (what we should be worried about) of the waterways in our catchment.
Preliminary information on values and threats has been collated through previous consultative projects. Input is now sought from the community and other stakeholders to confirm these in their local area and to add more detail where required. Actions to manage these valules and treats will be described in the WMP.
We thank you for taking the time to complete this survey, it should take less than 10 minutes .
