The program is from April – September 2024 (& beyond).
Ribbon’s Advocate Leaders Network has been created to empower a new leadership cadre among People Living with HIV in Washington, DC, and Prince George County, MD. Advocate Leaders who will create new pathways for other PLWH to exercise self-advocacy in their health and HIV and other chronic disease service delivery in Washington, DC, and Prince Georges County, MD.

The goal of the Advocate Leaders Network is to increase the number of People Living with HIV who are prepared to engage in leadership roles and activities related to their personal health needs and to participate, engage, and advocate for effective HIV service delivery In Washington, DC and Prince Georges County, MD.
Advocate Leaders Network Q&A to answer a few questions

Q. Who is The Advocate Leaders Network for?
A. All people living with, receiving care for HIV and over 18 years old living in Washington, DC or Prince Georges County, MD who want to:
* Want support to become a leader?
* Make a difference in HIV services for yourself and others?
* End HIV-related stigma and advocate for better HIV services?
* Serve as a new Advocate Leader Network member in your community.

Q. What is the purpose of The Advocate Leaders Network
A. The program goals are:
* to increase the number of Living with HIV in Washington, DC or Prince Georges County, MD who are prepared to engage in leadership roles and activities related to HIV service delivery.

Q. To be an Advocate Leader what will I have to do?
A. Successful applicants will be asked:
* to identify opportunities to engage and participate meaningfully in decision-making bodies and planning boards that service people living with HIV.
* to participate in 10 program sessions (5 Zoom 5 in-person) April – June 2024
* actively engage in your health to improve health outcomes for you as a living with HIV
* actively engage in your local community to improve health outcomes for people living with HIV.
* Within 60 days of completion of the training, you will be expected to engage in the planning process with a local community group serving persons living with HIV. These community groups might be a Ryan White Planning Council, Planning Council Com
mittees, TGA’s Consortiums, Community or Consumer Advisory Board and their committees are all examples of the types of
meetings we will be expecting you to participate.
* To participate in the course graduation on June 29, 2024.

Q. What else is expected of Advocate Leaders
A. All participants accepted into the program will be expected to engage fully in the entire program.
Review the following program expectations to ensure you can abide by all the considerations.
* Each participant will be expected to fully participant for up to six (6) months.
* At the completion of the person training, attend and represent the Advocate Leader Network in local meetings and events.
* Be comfortable learning, networking and working with diverse groups of people of color and others.
* Be willing to do self-guided study and review of lesson plans and information before, during, and after the training.
* Participate in pre-training and post-training evaluation, as well as Zoom and in-person meetings for the entire program (April –
Sept 2024).
* Share highlights from the training and distribute them using your social media networks and disseminate them during in-person engagements.
* Participate with program mentors and coaching support.
