1. Introduction

Thank you very much for taking some time to fill in this survey about your experiences at Worldcon. This survey will be used as part of a developing project on the history and organization of Worldcon.

The survey contains a number of questions that focus on the most recent Worldcon as well as your participation(if any) in previous Worldcons. If you do not wish to answer a specific question for any reason, just leave it blank and continue on to the next question. Depending on your history of involvement with Worldcon the survey should take between 5-25 minutes. You can navigate back and forth between sections and leave the survey open and return to it until you select finished at the end.

Should you have any concerns about this research or your participation please feel free to contact the Chair of my Department, Dr. Rob Moir at rmoir@unbsj.ca or by phone at 506-648-5522. You may also contact David Flagel, Chair, Research Ethics Board, at flagel@unbsj.ca or by phone 506-648-5610.

Your participation in this survey will be kept anonymous. If you volunteer contact information in the last section that information will not be filed with the survey data, but will be used separately for other stages of the research and (for those interested) for keeping participants informed of the research results.

In future I will be interviewing people who have been attendees, participants and organizers of Worldcon. There is information about this on-going project on my web page: http://people.unb.ca/~jmadeley Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about this research - jmadeley@unbsj.ca. Once you finish the survey you should be directed to a thank you page that also contains my contact information.
