Colorado State University Clinical Trials

Thank you for your interest in Colorado State University's Clinical Trials. Knee ligament or ACL-tears (in dogs called canine cruciate ligament disease or rupture - CCLD/CCLR) are a common problem in people and animals. Many surgical and non-surgical treatment options are available but there is a lack of knowledge about the efficacy of non-surgical treatment options. Surgery is generally recommended for young, active dogs. More info about the disease can be found here (external link to the CCLD-page of our website). At CSU, we are evaluating new treatment methods for this problem and are currently researching whether physical therapy (with or without a brace) works in dogs. This study is designed for dogs with unilateral (one-sided) CCLD that can not undergo surgery (or the dog's owner would like to pursue non-surgical treatment).

Detailed information about the inclusion/exclusion criteria and amount of visits required for this study can be found here (external link to our clinical trials website).

To determine whether your dog might be a candidate for our ongoing clinical trial please fill out our short survey. It should take about 5 minutes to complete the survey. Be sure to leave your contact information in order to be contacted regarding the next step to enrollment.

Let's get started by getting to know your pet a little bit:
