The Burien Community Center has been a gathering place for our community since it opened in 2010. In the years since, the center has hosted countless special events, celebrations, classes, and programs that support enrichment, health, and wellness for people of all ages and backgrounds. While the building continues to serve our community well, it has not received a comprehensive interior update since it first opened.
The City is exploring a modest refresh of the Community Center to ensure the space remains welcoming, functional, and reflective of the diverse community we serve, while also being fiscally responsible with public resources. Proposed updates focus on high-impact, cost-effective improvements, including new flooring, wall murals, and welcoming furniture that enhance comfort, accessibility, and sense of belonging.
