Welcome to the Survey on Red Tide topics of importance to Florida Stakeholders.

Thank you for providing your input on this survey, which inquires about public stakeholder opinions on a variety of red tide topics and how the public wants that information delivered. Your responses will help to enhance the quality of outreach products provided to the public about the Florida red tide, Karenia brevis. This survey will also be used by a USF Curriculum and Instruction doctoral student for an in-class project. We hope that we can count on your participation in this survey. This survey should take about 15 minutes to complete.

You have been selected to participate in this survey because you have previously signed up for informational e-mails from the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in regards to Red Tide, or you frequent the Florida Red Tide and other Harmful Algal Blooms facebook page. The Fish and Wildlife Research Institute is dedicated to providing accurate and timely educational information to all public and private stakeholders on a variety of topics in regards to Florida’s wildlife.

The purpose of this survey is to determine which topics in regards to the Florida red tide the public feels are the most important and how the public would like this information delivered. Please rate these topics according to your personal opinion.

This survey is anonymous and no identifying information will be collected. Your responses will not be shared with anyone outside of the HAB research team, the USF doctoral student, and the class instructor. All responses that relate to or describe identifiable characteristics of individuals may be used only for statistical purposes and may not be disclosed or used in identifiable form for any other purpose, unless otherwise compelled by law. The information you provide will be combined with the information provided by others for the purpose of identifying topics the public feel are important in regards to red tide in order to develop outreach products the public finds interesting and helpful. No individually-identifiable data, either at the student- or institution-level, will be included in the statistical reports.
