Reading for pleasure

Thank you for quickly helping YBPS commence our 'reading year'. We start with this short survey which will be strictly confidential. The information gathered will be used internally to help influence some of our other exciting priorities which are all about improving literacy and consequently the future prospects of our learners. I read whenever and wherever I liked.

I often received books as presents.

I regularly attended a local or school library.

My family read and encouraged reading.

My family made me read and it was more a chore than something I enjoyed.

It was hard to find a quiet time to read at home.

I can still recall a parent or adult read to me often before I was an independent reader.

We always had books, or comics, magazines or newspapers around the home.
