Instructions for Candidates

Answer the questions below to apply for the 2020-21 Joseph Rago Memorial Fellowship for Excellence in Journalism. In addition to the application below, we ask candidates to obtain one letter of reference from someone familiar with their work and abilities. The reference letter can be submitted here or emailed to Daniel McCarthy, director of journalism fellowships, at dmccarthy@tfas.org. 

Applications are due by February 10, 2020.

Candidates who are chosen as finalists will be invited to interview in person at the Wall Street Journal's editorial offices in March or April. The fellowship begins in September 2020.
