Leading Age Virginia and Art for the Journey present Opening Minds through Art (OMA)

LeadingAge Virginia received a grant from the Civil Monetary Reinvestment Fund to administer a three year grant, called Opening Minds through Art (OMA), carried out by Art for the Journey. OMA is an award-winning, evidence-based, intergenerational art-making program for people with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of neurocognitive disorders. It's failure-free program provides opportunities for creative self-expression and social engagement for people with dementia. The grant provides for 102 Virginia nursing homes to apply for startup funding and training to adopt the program. Selected nursing homes will receive two scholarships for staff members to attend the OMA Facilitator Training program (valued at $1500) and receive $2000 to purchase art supplies upon completion of the training. Thank you for your interest in OMA. We look forward to your application submission.
