Assessing the Impacts of Mayor de Blasio's Congestion Mitigation Plan
In late October, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a congestion mitigation plan comprised of five initiatives intended to alleviate congestion within New York City. Two of the initiatives, Clear Lanes and Clear Curbs, implement a six-month pilot program restricting freight deliveries in parts of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. The pilot will run through early October.
More information on the Clear Lanes and Clear Curbs initiatives are available here.
The Clear Lanes and Clear Curbs initiatives are now in effect. The Trucking Association of New York (TANY) recognizes that these restrictions will create challenges for the trucking industry as well as businesses located in the restricted zones.
TANY is currently collecting feedback regarding the restrictions as well as the impact the restrictions are having on businesses delivering or located within the restricted zones.
Your participation in this short survey is appreciated as TANY continues to work towards improving the efficiency of freight movement in New York City while also trying to find solutions to the negative impacts of congestion.
