Introduction

Welcome,

This survey aims to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences and viewpoints of young individuals aged 18 to 30 regarding racism in primary and secondary education in the European Union, as well as the most effective strategies for addressing this issue. The findings will inform a youth consultation report and a policy guide on addressing racism in and through education, inclusive of specific sections on youth.

The survey is developed in the context of the online youth consultation organized as part of the UNESCO-EU project on "Addressing Racism through Education" (2026–2027). The project's first phase includes online consultations, bringing together researchers, educators, civil society, policymakers, and youth on how primary and secondary education can address racism and promote inclusion. The online survey is part of a dedicated youth consultation to ensure the integration of young people's perspectives and recommendations.

The survey is in English and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Your answers are confidential: results are anonymized, and you can skip any question or stop at any time. There are no right or wrong answers: we're interested in your honest views and experiences.

Your privacy is important to us. We take every precaution to protect the information you provide in accordance with the UNESCO Principles on Personal Data Protection and Privacy.

By continuing this survey, you grant the rights to reproduce, translate, adapt, publish, perform, broadcast, and communicate to the public, in any language and in printed and electronic format, the whole or any part of the responses provided.
