Charles City County Public Schools would like your input regarding the 2023-2024 School Calendar. Based on a 2019 change in state code, school boards can open schools as early as two weeks before Labor Day. With a pre-Labor Day start, the law requires that students have a four-day Labor Day weekend, with schools closed the Friday before Labor Day through the actual holiday. This survey offers two calendar options for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Option 1 offers a Pre-Labor Day start with school starting on Monday, August 21, 2023, for students.
- Option 2 offers the traditional Post-Labor Day start, with school starting on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, for students.
