About the Course
Mendocino County Public Health is offering a suicide prevention course.  The course is free.

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is a gatekeeper program and like CPR, it certifies people to respond to a person in crisis until professional medical personnel is available.  This focus of getting as many local people certified in QPR as possible is in response to a little-recognized danger in our community, Suicide. California has a lower than average suicide rate, while Mendocino County has more than double the state and national averages. Suicide rates in rural areas throughout the country have steadily been increasing.

By using three straightforward steps, anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. The 90-minute training, led by Dr. Marvel Harrison, is clear and concise and empowers all people, regardless of their background to make a positive difference in the life of someone they know.
Please let us know which of these dates you would prefer to attend the QPR Suicide Prevention Course.
