Resolutions are now being accepted for consideration by the membership at the 206th Annual Meeting of the Vermont Medical Society, November 1 & 2 at Topnotch in Stowe, Vermont.

Consistent with the Society's by-laws, resolutions are intended to express composite positions of the Society on health matters and are to suggest a significant course of action to be taken by the Society. If adopted by the membership, policy as stated in the resolution will be the policy position of the Vermont Medical Society.

Resolutions may be drawn up by component societies, committees of the Society, specialty sections of the Society, other sections of the Society, the Council or individual members of the Society, and shall be submitted to the Council for its consideration prior to the last Council meeting before the annual meeting at which they are to be considered.

For Council consideration, please send your proposed resolutions to the VMS by July 26, 2019.

Resolutions submitted to the Council shall be presented to the annual meeting with the Council's recommendation. All resolutions presented by the Council shall require a majority vote for adoption.

Two-thirds majority consent shall be required for the introduction of new resolutions at the annual meeting, except when presented by the Council. All such new resolutions shall require three-fourths affirmative vote for adoption.
