@NTXTeslaOwners Survey: Track Day At Texas MotorSport Ranch
The Tesla Owners Club of North Texas is investigating the feasibility of offering a half-day on the track at Texas MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, Texas. Reserving the track and arranging instructors requires a significant commitment by the Club, so we want to ensure that we have sufficient interest before we complete discussions and set dates. We need thirty-nine participants to fill the track. We will invite members from other regional clubs to give us the best shot at making that commitment.
This driver education event is geared toward both novice and more experienced drivers and will be run on a road course (sports car track). This is not racing school - the objectives are for you to become more familiar with the driving characteristics of your car and to improve your driving skills. The instructors will teach you how to drive the track in the optimum manner, which will not be dependent on your car's horsepower. Classroom instruction is included and mandatory.
Here's what to expect -- the costs and exact experience are net set in stone, but reflect our best understanding. The event will be managed by Apex Driving Academy.
The cost will be between $250-$300. One driver per car. The fee gets you:
- Classroom Instruction.
- Lead-and-follow sessions (likely 2) behind a pace car to get the feel of the mile track.
