Retaining Volunteers — Practical Strategies for Keeping Your Volunteers Engaged
Wednesday 21st January 2026, 10.30am - 1pm, on Zoom
-
Are you looking for effective ways to keep your volunteers motivated, committed, and part of your organisation for longer? Join us for a practical and interactive Zoom session designed specifically for Volunteer Managers in local voluntary sector organisations.
-
During this engaging workshop, we will explore what motivates volunteers and how you can nurture those motivations to strengthen their commitment. We’ll discuss the key moments in a volunteer’s journey where they may be at risk of leaving and look at practical approaches for tackling these issues early. The session will also examine how to create a volunteer-friendly culture, adapt your induction, training and supervision processes to support retention, and develop meaningful progression routes for your existing volunteers.
-
We will also consider how to set clear and realistic expectations for both volunteers and staff, as well as share a range of reward and recognition ideas that help volunteers feel valued. Whether you are new to volunteer management or looking to refresh your approach, this training offers practical strategies, shared experiences, and inspiration to help you build a loyal and motivated volunteer team.
.
Venue: Zoom. If you are allocated a place, you will be sent a Zoom link to access the training. Please ensure you have a stable internet connection and have downloaded the latest version of Zoom (https://zoom.us/download).
