Seniors' Age-Friendly Community - Scarborough Survey

Building an inclusive community is vital for the development and prosperity of every society . 

The proposed project will focus on supporting the development of age-friendly communities.  Islamic Foundation of Toronto will undertake a community needs assessment through this survey  and develop an age-friendly action plan that will focus on developing inclusive communities through giving racialized, newcomer /immigrant, Indigenous and seniors living with disabilities the opportunity to be involved in the process.  The information in this plan will provide evidence as a basis for further policy and program development decisions to meet the short and long-term needs of diverse Seniors.


Our project entitled, "AFC for All" will use the Age-Friendly Communities Guide developed by The Ontario Seniors’ Secretariat (OSS), the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario (ADO), the University of Waterloo and McMaster University to develop up-to-date information on the needs of isolated groups that deserve an opportunity to contribute to their AFC plan.
